“Ruddocks Dam (also known as Onion Lake) is truly a Fly fishers dream….I have fished there for 15+ years rarely disappointed….the lake works best for smaller groups.
It is a good challenge for accomplished Fly Fishers, as well as perfect to introduce ‘Newbies’ to the sport & camping. – It is very ‘Novice friendly’, as the Lake is just ‘A Pothole’ full of large natural magnificent Rainbows.
This is NOT a ‘Party’ Lake but one for a True, Great Fly Fishing & camping experience. It is VERY well managed by my friend Gord, and again a “Mecca” for Flyfishing. The fishing is right at your doorstep, almost no biting insects …..but awesome fishing…..as I said, Mecca !!
Although it is advertised as a private lake, previous groups have been confused as there are several seasonal tenants that may be staying & fishing on the lake while you are there that need to be respected. We love to share our knowledge with you as there are so many good opportunities/spots as long as renters are respectful of others – day & night!
This is a ‘ TRUE NUGGET’, so close to civilization, but yet an epic ‘Outdoor’ experience.
